*****
What a lovely stay at the Crest, a beautiful little place in a great location. Val was very responsive and communication was great. The property was clean, tidy and had everything you could want for a seaside break. We took our small dog, who was in his element able to walk out the back door over the dunes and straight on to the lovely dog friendly beach!
Highly recommended.

The Crest is an absolutely fantastic place to stay for a family break. The location is unbeatable, just yards from a lovely, quiet, sandy beach, which is also dog friendly. Sunsets viewed through the huge, West facing picture window in the living room were a real treat. The house itself is cosy and comfortable, but also spacious enough for a family with two teenagers not to be on top of each other. The beds and bedding are particularly comfortable. The house is equipped with everything you could possibly need plus lots of thoughtful extra touches, such as an umbrella and torch by the front door, hot water bottles, dog treats and plenty of games, books and puzzles. We were very lucky with the weather and were able to be out on the beach every day, even though it is October. It was especially nice to come back to a toasty house thanks to the wood pellet burning fireplace. The large, secure garden was a real bonus for us and our dog. Communication with Jan has been excellent, and she was extremely helpful during our stay. We will be back!

There was a large front garden, fully fenced and gated. So very dog-friendly with lots of secure space. Wonderful views over the countryside with a lovely, solid wood picnic bench to sit at for outdoor eating.
Immaculate cottage, clean, spacious and very well appointed. Bedrooms bright and spacious. The kitchen was fitted out well with everything that we needed. We liked the 50:50 fridge/freezer! A spacious bathroom with a nice big shower cubicle. We also appreciated the ‘smart’ tv and the selection of games.
The area behind (seaward side) of the cottage was quiet and private, completely paved with a table and chairs - a lovely sunny, quiet place for early morning coffee! This rear area also had a large storage box where everything for a day on the beach is stored.
There are private steps leading up to the top of the sand-dunes and then a path, which is shared with two of the other cottages, down to the beach.
The wide beach is brilliant, soft, clean sand with a shallow incline down into the sea, so even a timid or non-swimmer could wade out easily. Lots of interesting stones to beach-comb too! The relatively private stretch of beach meant that there were not many people on our part of the beach, even though it was mid-August, hot and sunny! Also it’s a dog-friendly beach which was great for Zena the dog.
We particularly loved the private, cleared area at the top of the sand-dune where you could set up your deckchairs and see the entire stretch of beach and right out to sea. We brought our binoculars so we spent a lot of time watching the ships on the horizon and the sailing boats closer in.
Altogether a wonderful, relaxing week by the seaside. I could not have wished for better.
